The DSST Program is a nationally recognized testing program that provides the opportunity to receive college credit for learning acquired outside the traditional college classroom.
The Master's College is an "open" testing site for DSST testing. Testing is available to students and non-students alike. The Master's College offers all DSST examinations.
Tests are administered at 1 pm and 3 pm Monday and Wednesday and at 9 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm Tuesday and Thursday. This schedule is subject to periodic change. There are two separate fees; the registration fee is $30 and the fee for the test is $80. Testing is by appointment only.
Most DSST examinations (all except the Public Speaking DSST) are administered online through a program only accessible at a test center. The Career Office recommends scheduling your test at least one week in advance to ensure computer availability. The Public Speaking DSST is not taken online; therefore, test appointments must be made at least 2 weeks in advance to allow sufficient time for test materials to be received.
To schedule a testing appointment, contact the college at 661.362.2267 (Career Services).
Candidates may take advantage of the DSST website at
www.getcollegecredit.com to prepare for their tests. This site includes a list of exam titles, a description of each test, information on study materials and a list of locations offering the tests.
One option for preparing for a DSST is a program called Dantes Test Prep:
