A: Yes. A California teaching credential is required for admission to the Master’s in Education Program.

A: No. The Master’s in Education program at The Master’s College requires a California teaching credential for admission.
Q: How many course units are in the Master’s Degree?
A: There are 35 semester units required in the Master’s in Education program.
Q: Can all of my teacher preparation coursework units taken at The Master’s College be used towards my Master’s Degree?
A: Only 18 units of the credentialing program can be counted towards the Master’s Degree in Education. The 12 units of student teaching cannot be counted.
Q: I did not complete my Teacher Preparation Program at The Master’s College. Can any of the units that I completed for my credential at another institution be used towards my MAE Degree?
A: Units from credential programs from other institutions will be evaluated for transfer credit on a case-by-case basis.
Q: How long will it take me to complete the MAE degree?
A: Candidates have up to five summers to complete the MAE program.
Q: I took some of my credentialing coursework as an undergraduate. Can those units count towards my MAE?
A: No. Only coursework taken as a graduate may be considered towards the MAE degree.
Q: My credential is expired and I have not been in the classroom for several years. Can I still be accepted into the MAE program?
A: Candidates will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Q: When can I expect to receive my materials for the Pre course work?
A: If you submit your complete application by the March 15 deadline, you should receive your Pre course work by April 15.
