| We believe that God has ordained the local church as His organizational structure during this age to be responsible for discipling those He has called to Himself for the work of ministry to advance His kingdom. The Master’s College is a servant of the church and has been established to assist in this equipping process by providing college-level educational programs in strategic fields to prepare the lay and pastoral leadership in the conservative evangelical church on a regional, national, and worldwide basis. DEEP provides a mechanism for pastors and missionaries in local churches and Christian schools to offer classes at a level that are comparable to what might be presented in a church-based Bible Institution type program. For some individuals, DEEP would provide a personally enriching systematic and advanced study of the Bible. For others who take the courses for credit, it provides a cost competitive opportunity to obtain college credit-taught from a distinctively biblical worldview-toward a Bachelor’s degree while continuing to be discipled and to serve within their local church. How Does This Partnership Work? The centerpiece of TMC DEEP courses is the lecture presentations by TMC faculty. The streaming video or DVD lectures sets are viewed at the church in a class setting led by a church-designated coordinator so individuals may benefit from group discussion. This class may be composed of both for-credit and audit students, though only for-credit students will submit homework (to be graded by TMC Professors) and take exams (proctored by the course coordinator). To encourage full participation within a church-class setting, individuals in the church group will not receive lecture DVD sets yet all will have access to online streaming video of the lectures for reference via student course homepage. If individuals desire a copy of the lecture set for future reference, one may be purchased from TMC DEEP at the time of registration ($25 per set) or deducted from the stipend amount (more information below). Churches desiring to offer DEEP courses in a scheduled classroom group format would select a qualified individual to coordinate the following administrative and instructional tasks for the course:
StipendsThe church/Christian school will receive a per student per unit stipend for offering the course in a class-based format. This stipend is not discounted from the initial tuition payment but is returned to the church after the course has begun. The organization has control over how the stipend is used. The course coordinator may be paid a portion of the stipend. In some cases, a portion of the stipend may be used to provide a tuition discount to all students in the class, while in others it may be distributed as scholarships to students having the most significant financial need. The church may also decide to purchase DVD sets for individual students who have to complete a course ($25 per DVD set).
