The President’s Award will be presented by Dr. MacArthur to one distinguished TMC/LABC alum during the college’s Eighty-Second Commencement Ceremony. The honoree must be an individual whose life has been characterized by faithfulness, service, leadership, excellence and integrity. In addition, they have demonstrated Christian character and pursuit of Christlikeness in their home, their church, and their profession. Finally, they should be an individual who has been able to employ their education to advance their vocational field or ministry with distinction.
- A graduate of one of the college’s baccalaureate degree programs, having attended for a minimum of 2 years.
- Not a current or recent employee of TMCS.
- Has not graduated in the last 5 years.
- Whose life has embodied the mission statement of the College and has demonstrated:
- Commitment to Christ, as evidenced by:
- Acceptance and acknowledgment of Christ as Lord and Savior
- Unreserved worship of God
- Pursuit of Christlikeness in word, deed and attitude
- Biblical Fidelity, as evidenced by:
- Devotion to the study and application of the Scriptures
- Willingness to defend the inerrancy, authority and sufficiency of the Scriptures
- Moral Integrity, as evidenced by:
- The nurturing of holiness through self-examination
- Stewardship of time, abilities, and resources
- A lifetime of wholesomeness and moderation that regards the body as the temple of the Holy Spirit
- The practice of honesty, courtesy and civility toward all persons
- The practice of biblically confronting and restoring sinners
- Intellectual Growth, as evidenced by:
- The ability and desire for inquiry into the great issues of life
- A habit of careful analysis and evaluation for information and ideas
- A thoughtful interaction with the full range and respect for the arts
- Lasting Contribution to the Kingdom of God, as evidenced by:
- Service and leadership within the local church
- An unashamed proclamation of the Gospel of Christ
- The building of a godly family
- A strong and biblically-motivated work ethic
- An informed participation in the political process
- A continuing development of professional expertise
- If you would like to nominate an individual for this award, please fully fill out and submit an online nomination form no later than March 15th, 2010.
- The nominations will be reviewed and the selected honoree will be notified by April 1st 2010. At that time, the Alumni Office will make travel and accommodation arrangements for the individual. NOTE: the recipient of The President’s Award will not be notified prior to their selection. Thus, it is best not to divulge your recommendation to others.
- On May 7th, 2010, the honoree will be featured at the College’s annual Graduate Luncheon and will be honored at TMC’s Eighty-Third Commencement Ceremony. The honoree will also be featured in the spring addition of The Current.
