Recognition: U.S. News and World Report ranked The Master's College 2nd in "Comprehensive Baccalaureate Colleges - Western Region" in its 2008 edition of "America's Best Colleges." This marked the eighth consecutive year that TMC was listed in the top tier of the "Western Region Baccalaureate Colleges." Other rankings: 4th in the category of "Great Schools, Great Prices"; 2nd highest graduation rate of 61%; 3rd in freshmen retention rate; 3rd in academic reputation.
History: Founded in 1927 as Los Angeles Baptist Theological Seminary. Moved to Santa Clarita in 1961. Name changed to The Master's College in 1985. Dr. John MacArthur, internationally-known author, pastor-teacher, and host of radio's Grace to You program, named president in 1985.

Academic Environment: A Christian world view is taught in all courses; 6-day view of creation. General education core is a strong combination of theological and biblical studies and the liberal arts; emphasis on individual attention; majority of classes are small; student-faculty ratio is 16:1.

IBEX: The Israel Bible Extension program ("IBEX") is The Master's College extension program in Israel. The IBEX program provides a unique laboratory experience, studying the Bible in the Land of the Bible. This 15-week semester abroad program consists of 13-16 credits and is crafted to meet general education requirements. Located only seven miles outside Jerusalem, in the Judean hill country.
LABEX: Our Los Angeles Bible Extension Campus provides an opportunity for TMC students to live in the heart of Los Angeles and minister at an inner city church and to the Latino community, all while continuing to attend classes at TMC.
International Study: In cooperation with the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities, programs are offered in England, China, Washington D.C., Russia, Australia, Uganda, Costa Rica, and Egypt. TMC students have participated in virtually all of these.
Activities: An emphasis is placed on spiritual activities -- chapel three times a week; extensive missions opportunities locally, nationally, and internationally; student government; music ensembles; intramural sports; brother-sister dorms; variety of social activities.
Intercollegiate Athletics: Men's and women's basketball, soccer, baseball, cross-country, golf, tennis and volleyball compete in Division I of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and/or Division I of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA), winning regional championships and gaining national recognition. Extensive intramural program also available.
Admission: Students committed to Christ are admitted regardless of gender, race, color, handicap, ethnic or national origin. Scores on the SAT or ACT are accepted. Transfer students are welcome and must meet same requirements as high school graduates.
Financial Aid: 85 percent of students receive financial assistance through scholarships, grants, workstudy, and loans. Average award is $18,000 per year, per student. Average amount of debt a student will graduate with: $19,000. The Financial Aid Office staff is available to assist students in applying.
