Factoids

What is your favorite Bible verse and why?
Acts 20:24 “But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. This verse constantly keeps my focus on Who owns my life, and what my life as a believer demands.

Who would you consider your role model?
There are three people that I consider role models. First, my dad has always been a great example of how to live life as a godly man. Second, my older brother Hugh constantly holds me accountable to living a life aligned with Scripture. And last, Terrence Jones mentored me throughout my college years, and has had a tremendous impact, molding my perspective as a Christian.

How did your college experience change you?
I loved every moment of college (except maybe finals week)! The friendships that I made in college were the deepest and the most spiritually challenging friendships that I’ve made my entire life. Through these friendships, I learned the importance of being involved in a local church, pursuing discipleship, and blessings of fellowship with other believers. Also, the summer after my senior year, I went on a mission trip to Taiwan with 6 classmates. The 5 weeks we spent in Taiwan radically changed my perspective on ministering in a cross-cultural environment. I highly recommend the GO mission trips offered every summer at TMC.

What’s your favorite local place to eat?
Claim Jumpers. They have great burgers and their desserts are outrageously large.

What’s your favorite spot on the TMC campus to hang out?
The best place to hang on campus is at the gym during a packed out basketball game. When you combine two of the best things that God has given mankind to enjoy, basketball and friends, you have a guaranteed great time!

What are some of your hobbies and/or interests?
Anything related to sports! I love playing or watching just about any sport, and I love going to stadiums to root for my teams (The Black Mamba + Lakers = G.O.A.T.).

Do you have any nicknames?
My first couple years of college my friends called me hamper (instead of pampers) because I was always the youngest one around.

What CD is in your CD player right now?
What’s a CD?! I stopped buying compact discs in high school. As far as music goes, my favorite musicians are Bob Marley, Coldplay, and Alicia Keys.

What is your favorite coffee drink?
Caramel Frap from Starbucks. It’s the only coffee drink worth $4 at Starbucks. Can’t go wrong!

What book are you currently reading?
I am currently reading The Cross Centered Life by C.J. Mahenney. It’s a short read, but incredibly challenging.

Who was your favorite college professor while at TMC?
This question is a hard one because I enjoyed so many of my professors. I don’t know that I had just one favorite, but my top six professors were Dr. Stead, Dr. Frazer, Dr. Mackey, Dr. Granados, Prof. Forgerson, and Judge Crawford.
