Counselor Bio - Monique Monge

Hi my name is Monique Monge, and I graduated from The Master’s College in the spring of 2008. I got my bachelors degree in Communications and loved every second of it. I had the best professors I could ever ask for and was blessed to be taught under people who cared about me and my education. Not only that, but I lived in a dorm where relationships were important and Christ was the center. As I think back at my time at The Master’s College I can truly say that it was the best time in my life. I was challenged in ways I thought were never possible and laughed more times than a person could! I had the best, most dynamic and uplifting relationships, and I would never trade that for the world. I can truly say that this place changed my life. – Monique

What is your favorite Bible verse and why?
Zephaniah 3:17 “The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save, he will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love and rejoice over you with singing.”

What a GREAT God we serve. What more could I say?

How did your college experience change you?
I grew so much during my time in college. I think I genuinely took my walk seriously and understood the importance of having people around me that would encourage me to look to Christ. Everywhere I went, I would be surrounded by people who were genuine and understood my same struggles. They were interested about my relationship with the Lord and cared about how the Lord was working through me. So college for me was something I treasure. I left having an eternal perspective on life and how I couldn’t live without having urgency. Christ had to be at the center of everything I did.

What’s your favorite spot on the TMC campus to hang out?
C DUB, probably because I lived there for four years and love every single moment of it. I had such great memories there.

What’s your favorite local place to eat?
La Rumba. Dollar tacos Monday and Thursday night! Hahaha.

What are some of your hobbies and/or interests?
I love movies, music, and missions!!!! And of course, my family and spending time with my church.

What CD is in your CD player right now?
Radiohead and Bjork.

What is your favorite coffee drink?
That would have to be a hot tall vanilla Americano with cream from Starbucks. Yum.

What book are you currently reading?
Knowing God, J.I. Packer. It’s a definite must read. This is my third time reading it.
